Woven With Purpose: Our Journey Toward Becoming a B Corp™

Today, we are honoured to share that Wolf & Byrd is now officially B Corp™ Certified.

 

This milestone represents far more than a certification for us. It marks an important chapter in an ongoing journey of building a business rooted not only in creativity and design, but also in responsibility, intention, and human impact.

 

From the very beginning, Wolf & Byrd was created with purpose at its core. While fashion became the medium through which we expressed our ideas, the vision was always larger than clothing itself. We believed that garments could carry meaning beyond aesthetics — that they could become vessels for confidence, storytelling, identity, and emotional connection.

 

Over time, this belief naturally expanded into deeper questions:

- How do we create responsibly?

- How do we build a business that honours both people and planet?

- How do we ensure that our values are reflected not only in what we say, but in how we operate?

 

In 2024, our founder, Bhajinder Kaur, participated in a B Corp™ Bootcamp organised by the Singapore Fashion Council. That experience became a pivotal moment in the evolution of Wolf & Byrd.  While many of the values we stood for already existed within the spirit of the brand, the B Corp™ framework provided something invaluable: structure.

 

It offered a lens through which we could more intentionally evaluate our operations, policies, governance, community engagement, environmental practices, and long-term responsibilities as a growing business. It encouraged us to move beyond good intentions and toward measurable accountability.

 

The process challenged us to formalise systems that had previously existed more intuitively. It pushed us to strengthen internal policies, improve documentation, deepen stakeholder consideration, and think more holistically about the impact our decisions create over time.

 

In many ways, it helped institutionalise the values that had always guided Wolf & Byrd from the start.  As a brand, our understanding of impact extends beyond sustainability alone. We believe impact can also be emotional, social, cultural, and deeply human.

 

This philosophy continues to shape how we approach our work:

- through initiatives that support women and communities,

- through mentorship and advocacy,

- through more conscious production practices,

- through collaborations with local creatives and makers,

- and through storytelling that encourages individuals to feel seen, empowered, and connected to themselves.

 

We recognise that becoming a B Corp™ is not a final destination, nor does it mean perfection. Rather, it represents a commitment to continuous growth, reflection, and accountability. It reminds us that meaningful businesses are not built overnight, but through consistent choices made with integrity and care.

 

As Wolf & Byrd continues to evolve, we remain committed to growing thoughtfully — refining our practices, strengthening our impact efforts, exploring more responsible material choices, and continuing to create work that bridges beauty with purpose.

 

We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to B Lab Singapore, the Singapore Fashion Council, and the wider B Corp™ community for their guidance, encouragement, and dedication toward shaping a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative future through business.

Your support has shaped this journey in more ways than words can fully express. This milestone belongs not only to our brand, but to the collective community that continues to believe that business can be a force for meaningful change.
