Welcome to another issue of our interview series, Spotlight, where we feature stories from inspiring women from all walks of life. With Spotlight, our aim is to share experiences, advice, and encourage women the world over to pursue their dreams with passion and dedication.
Today, we speak to Fannie Lim, Executive Director at Daughters Of Tomorrow (DOT), a Singapore based charity. DOT is devoted to empowering underprivileged women by facilitating livelihood opportunities and supporting them in achieving financial independence and social mobility for their families.
It's clear from speaking with Fannie that her passion for the work she does is genuine and comes straight from the heart. Her leadership style is a reflection of this, and it's easy to see why she's such an effective leader. She listens intently to what others have to say, and her warmth and sincerity are immediately apparent.
Fannie's career path has been anything but typical. She began in sales in the technology sector before making the decision to become a stay-at-home mom. During this time, she co-founded a skincare brand to address her children's eczema, demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to finding solutions to real-world problems.
Eventually, Fannie turned her attention to the non-profit sector, volunteering for DOT before ultimately becoming the organization's Executive Director in 2020. Under her leadership, DOT has continued to grow and make a real difference in the lives of those it serves.
For me, as an entrepreneur seeking to lead a purposeful life, it's an immense privilege to have the opportunity to interact with someone like Fannie. Her warmth, sincerity, and dedication to making a positive impact are truly inspiring.
